Future Business Leaders of America

Future Business Leaders of America is a Career and Technical Student Organization focused on providing its members with the skills they need to be successful in the workforce. I had the ability to join this organization as a freshman in high school and quickly realized the potential for education and growth. Taking the initiative, I applied, ran, and was elected by my peers to serve as a local chapter officer my sophomore year, and then was reelected to serve again my junior year. As a sophomore I also ran for the position of State Secretary, and was elected by a majority of Nebraska’s 4,000 members to serve in this position my junior year. In a similar fashion I ran for State Vice-President my junior year and was elected to serve for the duration of my senior year.

  • Worked with the state officer team to solve dynamic problems due to COVID-19.
  • Met with members of Nebraska's Legislature to advocate for Career and Technical Student Organizations.
  • Traveled to chapter meetings in Nebraska's central region to update and connect with members.
  • Developed social media outreach to keep members updated and increase membership.
  • Organized three Fall Conferences (one virtual, two in person) and two state-wide Spring Conferences.
  • Gave presentations at conferences on topics such as Membership Involvement and Work-Based Learning.
  • Wrote articles for a state-wide newsletter once every trimester.
